| TREE of the MONTH Crepe Myrtle I love when the Crepe Myrtle's are in bloom! Though their season is about to end, I had to share a few bits on these beauties! They are so colorful and burst forth with vibrant energy even after a cold winter made them appear too far gone. They are a pretty fast growing tree found in many countries. They come in every color except blue. How funny is that! HERBAL USE Said to possess insulin-like properties and has long been used in folk medicine to control blood sugar levels. Moreover, Banaba may also be a healthy way to support a leaner and more slender body through appetite control and sugar reduction. FOLKLORE Known also as the cuddle tree in Texas.
